The word "Hope" means several things to us... but for you and your pet we want it to mean hope for a healthy life and hope for quality of life.

About Our Practice

Hope Animal Hospital was established in June 2009 by Dr. Deanna Moseley, a 1999 graduate of NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, NC. It was named in honor of her beloved 3-legged Labrador Retriever, "Hope". Located in Shelby, NC, we are a full service small animal hospital.

  • Dr. Deanna M. Moseley, DVM

aka "Doc D" / Veterinarian, Owner
Dr. Moseley grew up in Valdese, NC and has since the age of 15 worked in veterinary hospitals. Her first rescue, "Brandy" the cocker spaniel, sparked her passion for animals. She attended NCSU and pursued a bachelors degree in Animal Science. She was accepted at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She graduated in May 1999. She came to Cleveland County in 2000 and worked at Cottonwood Veterinary Hospital for 6 years.

In September of 2006, Dr. Moseley pursued her own practice and started a mobile small animal service, "Moseley Mobile Veterinary Care".  Dr. Moseley enjoyed her new mobile practice because she was able to see your pets in their own environment and was able to provide a unique service to the Cleveland County area. However, with her growth, she decided that it was time to build her own "brick and mortar" practice.  In June 2009, Hope Animal Hospital opened her doors. With God in her life and the support of her family and friends, Dr. Moseley has been truly blessed to find her calling.
