Soft Tissue Surgery

We perform many types of soft tissue surgeries at Hope in addition to routine spaying and neutering.  These surgeries can provide many benefits to pets and their health.

Probably the most common soft tissue surgery performed on pets is the removal of masses or lumps.  Most of these masses, once removed and tested, are found to be benign (nonharmful); however, occasionally they are more serious. Early removal and accurate diagnosis of a lump are necessary to improve the outcome in your pet if the mass is cancerous.

If your pet requires more advanced soft tissue surgery, we utilize Bedrock Veterinary Specialists and their Mobile Surgery team. Dr. Matt Ritter, a board-certified surgeon, and his surgical team would perform your pet’s surgery here at Hope Animal Hospital. This allows us to keep our patients at our hospital for post-operative care. In the case where surgery is critical and needed to be done immediately, we refer your pet to their hospital in Cornelius, NC, or to another specialized hospital in our area (i.e. Carolina Veterinary Specialists of Charlotte, CARE of Charlotte, or Carolina Animal Specialty & Upstate Veterinary Specialists.

Please contact us if you’d like to discuss how soft tissue surgery might be able to help your pet.
